]]> Le corps de l’ancien Premier ministre ivoirien Hamed Bakayoko est arrivé ce samedi à Abidjan en provenance d’Allemagne.

Hamed Bakayoko, populairement connu sous le nom de “Hambak”, est décédé en Allemagne d’un cancer à l’âge de 56 ans, quatre jours après les élections législatives qui ont donné la victoire au parti au pouvoir, le RHDP.

Jeudi, le gouvernement a décrété une période de deuil national de huit jours du 12 au 19 mars.

Le programme officiel comprend des hommages de la nation mercredi, suivis du transfert du corps le lendemain à Seguela (Nord) où il sera enterré vendredi “dans la plus stricte intimité de la famille”.



Bakayoko, qui était également ministre de la Défense, a été évacué en France le 18 février par avion spécial pour «raisons de santé», avant d’être transféré dans un hôpital en Allemagne le week-end dernier, au moment des élections législatives en Côte d’Ivoire.

Hamed Bakayoko a succédé à Amadou Gon Coulibaly au poste de Premier ministre après sa mort subite le 08 juillet 2020.

The Ivorian Prime Minister Ahmed Bakayoko, evacuated to France since February 18 and urgently transferred to Germany last week, succumbed to a dazzling cancer on Wednesday March 10, 2021 at the age of 56.

The sad news has been announced on Wednesday evening by Fidel Sarassoro, director of cabinet of the Ivorian president Alassane Ouattara.

“I am deeply saddened to announce the death of Prime Minister Hamed Bakayoko this Wednesday in Germany from cancer,” he said.

“Our country is in mourning,” said Alassane Ouattara, in a message posted on social media.

“I pay tribute to the Prime Minister, Hamed Bakayoko, my son and close collaborator, too soon torn from our affection”, he continued, paying homage to this “great statesman, a model for our youth, a personality of great generosity and exemplary loyalty ”.

«Le ministre d’État Patrick Achi assumera les fonctions de Premier ministre et de chef du gouvernement à titre intérimaire», a déclaré la présidence dans un communiqué.

Tene Birahima Ouattara, ministre des affaires présidentielles et frère cadet du président Ouattara, a été nommé ministre de la Défense par intérim, remplaçant également Bakayoko à ce poste.
